Where are you?

Google Adsense – Where Are You? We bring you our numerous platforms, give you space for your ads, but where are you when we need you?

At a recent Google Adsense meetup, I (and many others) discovered Google Adsense has no customer support department or even dedicated customer support person. Got a question or problem? You can fill out a form (in the Help Center) – assuming you can find it. And then just wait. And wait.

When reading Dan Schwabel’s R.I.P Twitter As a Marketing Platform, his comments about the need for good customer service rang a bell. While I’m not convinced Twitter is no longer a viable marketing platform (it’s still one of the top three ways I reach my audience), he makes a great point about the need for customer service.

Google Adsense has a Facebook page. Great, but that doesn’t help the user. There is no place where Google will interact with customers. We’re bringing in huge amounts of revenue – it’s only in their best interest to assist us and provide the absolute best practices. If anything, Google is known for it’s secrecy and total lack of transparency.

I’m grateful to the Google guys who came out, and want to make a difference. Their further efforts are being blocked by upper management. They’re doing what they can – but have no backing from on high.

For the time being, I’ve switched the majority of my ads on another site to Amazon and a nice toy store – both pay better and have great customer service.
